Set Up a Class with Students and Seating Rules
Every Kredits app — Seating, Grouper, Scoreboard, Markbook — reads from the same class list. Set it up properly once in Class Editor and every other app just works.
How to do it
Open Class Editor
Sign in to Kredits and go to the Class Editor app from the Hub or the sidebar.
Create a new class
Click "New Class" and give it a name — it appears instantly in the class list on the left.
Add students
Click "Add Student" to build the roster one name at a time, or link the class to Google Classroom to import it automatically.
Set seating rules
Under Seating Rules, add "Keep Apart" pairs for students who shouldn't sit or group together, and "Keep Together" pairs for students who should.
Link to Google Classroom (optional)
Click "Link to Google Classroom" to connect this class to a real Classroom course for Markbook sync and roster imports.
Use the class everywhere
The roster and rules you set here feed straight into Seating, Grouper, Scoreboard, Picker and Markbook — no need to re-enter anything.
Best practices
Set Keep Apart / Keep Together rules once here — Seating and Grouper both honour them automatically.
Link Google Classroom before building a roster by hand — importing saves retyping every student's name.
Keep class names short and clear (e.g. "9B Physics") since they appear across every Kredits app.
Review the roster at the start of term and again after any timetable changes.
