Track What Your Class Knows with Kredits Konfidence
After a few starters it’s hard to remember which topics a class has really got. Kredits Konfidence keeps score for you: how sure Kredits is that the class, and each pupil, knows each question now. Retrieval then uses it to pick the questions the class needs most. It needs Kredits Pro and a class.
How to do it
-
Send Retrieval to a class’s devices
Konfidence builds from Retrieval questions answered on pupils’ devices with a class chosen. It is counted when you end the game. Questions answered in jotters don’t count.
-
Open Kredits Konfidence
In Retrieval, choose the class and press Konfidence, or go to Games → Kredits Konfidence and choose the class.
-
Read the headline
The top shows the class’s Konfidence and how many of its questions and cards have been asked so far. Scores run from 0 to 100: Shaky (under 40), Getting there, Konfident (70 and over), or Not asked yet.
-
See the topics
Show: Topics lists each topic with its average, weakest first. Open one to see its questions, weakest first. Knowledge cards have a row of their own.
-
See the pupils
Show: Pupils lists each pupil’s average, lowest first, with how many questions they have answered and their weakest topic. Open a pupil to see their topics.
-
How it changes
Konfidence goes up with right answers, and more for answers that keep coming right. It fades the longer it has been since a question was last got right, more slowly once a question has stuck. So a topic you haven’t revisited drifts down until it is asked again.
-
Practice at home counts too
Pupils with a Kredits Pass can practise the class’s topics at home on My Kredits. Their answers count towards their own Konfidence for the class.
-
Start again if you need to
Reset clears the class’s Konfidence, for example at the start of a new year.
Best practices
- Use the weakest topics list to plan a revision lesson or homework.
- A pupil with few answers has a less reliable score: look at the number answered as well as the score.
- Little and often works best: a short Retrieval every lesson keeps Konfidence up better than one long quiz.
- Konfidence is a guide for you and your pupils, not an exam grade.
